Libyan National Designated Authority

The National Designated Authority (NDA) of Libya, or Libyan National Designated Authority, is the central body appointed by the Libyan government to act as the official liaison with the Green Climate Fund (GCF). It plays a key role in coordinating and facilitating efforts related to climate financing and the implementation of climate-related projects and initiatives in the country.

Our mission is to enhance Libya’s resilience to climate change through sustainable policies and inclusive participation.

The Role of NDA in Climate Financing

The National Designated Authority (NDA) acts as the main liaison between a country and the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Its primary role is to ensure that GCF-funded activities align with national priorities and support climate adaptation and mitigation efforts. For a project to receive GCF funding, it must be approved by the NDA through a letter of no objection.
